A new update to the ongoing transfer saga around famous Sevilla star Jules Conde appeared on Thursday.
Of course, the name Stopper Kounde has taken its place front and center in the headlines all summer long so far.
It comes with the France international being added to his transfer wishlist for not one, but two heavyweights in the European game.
The clubs involved? Barcelona and Chelsea.
The latter, of course, has been keen on Kounde’s services for over a year now, with the Blues’ fruitless endeavors for both Matthijs de Ligt and Nathan Ake this time after they saw the 23-year-old take his place once again atop Thomas Tuchel’s shortlist of defensive goals.
Despite this, Barcelona are now eyeing reinforcements at the back after striking great deals for both Rafinha and Robert Lewandowski, and they have set their sights firmly on the talented Conde.
Not only that, but some words drawn from the Spanish media indicated that the Camp Nou was the Frenchman’s favorite landing point.
Such suggestions are certainly in line with the latest reports taking place in Catalonia on Thursday night.
It is widely understood that Chelsea, this week, made an opening bid in large sums to sign Conde, hoping to reach a final agreement before Barcelona is given the opportunity to activate its third economic leverage of the summer.
However, the Blaugrana appear willing to take advantage of the defender’s preference to be associated with Xavi’s forces, to steer Chelsea into the center for the second time in a matter of weeks (after Ravenha).
According to Cat Radio, he advised those in a position of strength at the Camp Nou Conde to accompany the rest of the Seville squad to Portugal today, on the pre-season tour of the Andalusian outfit.
This comes after the 23-year-old was not called up by Julen Lopetegui, assuming he was about to switch Chelsea.
Conde, in turn, has already made his way to the Algarve, on a clear day “Come and bring me” message to Barcelona.
