Tuchel trying to block Broja exit

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is doing everything in his power to prevent Armando Broja from leaving the club this summer.

The 20-year-old is a highly-rated young talent who enjoyed an impressive loan spell at Southampton last season, but is now looking for a permanent transfer rather than another loan.

according to Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive column for caught abroad on SubstackThe Blues could sell Broja to West Ham for around £30m, but it looks like a final decision is yet to come.

Broja wants to play regularly at this point in his career, but Romano makes it clear that the young Albanian international is also aware that Tuchel is a huge fan of him and is doing what he can to make sure he stays at Stamford Bridge.

“Broja is not interested in a loan deal. Chelsea will be open for a loan but the player no longer wants to take out a loan after last year at Southampton, and before that at Vitesse, ” Romano writes.

This is why the negotiation with West Ham is a permanent £30m deal. The player’s priority is to ensure playing time and feel important at the club, but it is also true that Broja knows that Thomas Tuchel is doing everything he can to keep him.”

Chelsea fans will certainly be concerned about this situation, as another loan is likely to be better in their view.

If Borussia continues permanently, there is surely a high risk that history will repeat itself and the youngster will enjoy the likes of Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne after leaving Chelsea without playing regularly early on in their careers.
