Thomas Tuchel explained how Romelu Lukaku could save his career at Chelsea.
After a stellar and title-winning performance in 2020/21 with Inter Milan, Lukaku was expected to be able to push Chelsea firmly into the Premier League title picture this term.
However, despite his £97.5m price tag, Lukaku has lost in west London and has yet to score in his last nine matches in all competitions.
This poor form created speculation about the future of the 28-year-old. And now, when asked about Lukaku’s future recently, Tuchel explained what the striker must do to save his Blues career:
“That’s a question you should ask him. It’s clear to us, we can play with Romelu and we can be very strong with Romelu and we’ve proven that”, Tuchel She said. “And we will prove that if he is involved and continues to be involved mentally and stays involved in the situation to get through this he can grow out of it and come back stronger.
“It’s always like this and it’s definitely disappointing for him and it’s not what we expected, not what we expected at the moment, but it’s not over and we won’t give up. We never give up with any player and we never give up. We will push it, we will push as far as possible and as long as we can and as long as The player has remained in the mindset to push the team forward, he can still be a crucial player.”

Chelsea vs Arsenal
Chelsea’s next game and Lukaku’s next chance to prove himself come Wednesday night against Arsenal.
Chelsea are heading into the match with very little to play for as the top four are confirmed.
