Liverpool are believed to be preparing to move to Aberdeen defender Calvin Ramsey as they search for a cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold in the summer transfer window.
The Reds have improved the depth of their squad immeasurably in the past two seasons, but the right-back is still in a position to do in reserve, with Joe Gomez the current option should Alexander-Arnold find himself out of action for whatever reason.
Gomez is a good defender, but he is a center back by trade and his future at Anfield is unclear, with the Englishman playing just 9 games in all competitions this season after returning from a serious injury.
With two years remaining on his current deal at the end of the season, his future will have to be decided one way or the other, and it appears increasingly likely that he could leave.

Calvin Ramsey in the crosshairs
Now, according to the sunCalvin Ramsey is the man Jurgen Klopp has identified as a fitting alternative to his iconic right-back, with the Aberdeen man providing a string of impressive performances for the Scottish side.
The 18-year-old has scored one goal and made five assists this season in an impressive campaign in the Scottish Premier League, and according to the report, Ramsey has attracted attention since his inception, and the Anfield giants see him as a signing-and-attend player. Through the first team.
It would likely mean the end of both Gomez and Nico Williams’ time at Anfield, but could prove another clever recovery by the Reds.
