Manchester United's Luke Shaw may not play again this season after a leg injury

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw may have to watch the end of the season from the sidelines after surgery on a previous injury sees him out for longer than initially anticipated.

Shaw was forced out at halftime as Manchester United held Leicester City’s draw at Old Trafford 10 days ago, and it was revealed that nails in his leg from a horror fracture to his double leg in 2015 were causing the pain, meaning it was no It has since been removed.

The Telegraph reported that “the Manchester United left-back was attacked last week and Ralph Rangnick was planning to be without him for three weeks”.

“But evaluation of the measure has led to the England international being ruled out for a longer period, with doubts over his campaign as United chase qualification for the Champions League with the seven games he plays.”

Losing the 26-year-old for the remainder of the campaign would leave Ralph Rangnick with only Alex Telles as an option left-back from the bigger side, a defender he was flattered for cheating in his 18 months at Old Trafford so far.

United face battle for Europa League

As it stands, Manchester United will go down in history as the second English team to take part in the new Europa League, Europe’s third tier competition.

They are seventh in the Premier League after a disastrous season, behind West Ham’s team led by former coach David Moyes, although they have a game in hand for the Hammers. With the matches against Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal still going on in the last 7 matches, they may struggle to reach the Europa League in the final standings.

It will represent a major disaster for the side that has aspirations and expectations for the title in August.
