Joel Asoro wants Tottenham transfer

Sweden striker Joel Asoro has expressed his desire to be reunited with former team-mate Dejan Kulusevski at club level, as he dreamed of a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The two Swedes played together at youth level, with Swedish team IF Brommapojkarna before Kulusevski joined Atalanta and later Juventus in Italy, while Asuro headed to Sunderland and then Swansea, before returning to the Swedish League (Olsvenskan) in 2021.

“Ideally, I would like to play with my friend Dejan,” the striker told Swedish website Fotballskanalen, according to Inside Football.

“It would be fun because we played a lot when we were kids. Asoro added: I would like to try it again.

Kulusevsky has made a huge impact since joining Tottenham on loan in January, with the north side of London likely to seek to make the winger deal permanent in the coming months. Although Joel Asoro doesn’t currently boast the most prolific scoring record by any means, Tottenham could take a bet on the 22-year-old as a replacement for Harry Kane, and bring him back to a childhood friend.
